Why Not Visit A Vineyard In The South East And Taste Some Wine?
There are many vineyards in England and some of the best are in the South East. And the wine produced locally is very good, you can't beat going to a vineyard on a lovely summers day and tasting some wine. We have chosen some of the best in the South East of England, where we can take you to and you can then try these wines for yourself. And guess who is the designated driver? The Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking, they have a 265 acre estate and it is one of the largest vineyards in England. The wine it produces has won many awards, it has a very good visitor centre and shop. The tours there are excellent and it has a very nice restaurant. Why not make a day of it? In Kent there is the Biddenden Vineyards and Cider Works, here you can take a relaxing walk through the vineyard, it is smaller than Denbies, it is 22 acres and very attractive. And has some great white, red, rose and sparkling wines, along with organised tours. Another idea is a privately organised wine tasting experience on a Saturday night, tasting the best wines at The Vineyard Hotel which was an 18th century hunting lodge and is in Newbury. They have a cellar of 30,000 wines and and they offer some great evenings of wine tasting and coaching on wines. And after some exquisite wine tasting and delicious food, why not stay the night in one of their luxurious suites?
